Updates to Our ADS-easy Accession Fee

For the first time in five years, the ADS has made the decision to increase our ADS-easy Set Accession fee from £150.00 to £160.00. While this is a small change, we wanted to take the opportunity to explain why this adjustment has been necessary.

All deposits made through ADS-easy are charged the same Accession Fee, which covers a portion of the costs related to management, administration, data ingest, and the development of a basic interface for sharing your dataset.

Over the past five years, inflation has steadily increased the cost of providing our services. Despite this, we have worked hard to absorb these costs through internal efficiencies, ensuring that we continue to operate as effectively as possible without passing unnecessary costs on to our depositors. However, even with these measures in place, a small increase has become unavoidable to maintain the quality of our services. It is important to note that this adjustment is well below the rate of true inflation over the past five years. We remain committed to keeping costs as low as possible while continuing to provide the high level of service that our users expect.

These updated costs will be effective from the 1st of April 2025. All archives submitted before the 1st of April 2025 will not be affected by this price increase. All in date quotations provided by the Collections Team will still be valid.

We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the ADS Helpdesk (help@archaeologydataservice.ac.uk).
